All previous efforts in Tuning and Timing can be in vain, if a cost-effective way of getting to the vending machine location regularly is not found. Vending machine service routes can be fixed, or flexible and dynamic. In the section OLD WORLD ROUTING, you saw the limitations of fixed routing. CodeRealm provides the real-time information needed to cost-effectively utilize the flexibility of dynamic routing.
Four-Path Dynamic Routing
Dynamic routing allows the timing to be adjusted for maximum revenue, while keeping the routing costs at minimum. In this section we shall explore the advantages of four-path (also called four-way) dynamic routing. In general there are four paths to each location, two paths are optimum, and two are close. Ideally each path is a rectangular loop up to about fifty miles total distance, containing eighty, one hundred, or more locations. The actual path loop distance and number of locations per path is dependent upon service area size and location density. For best optimization, all paths should be close to the same travel distance around the path.

Two Way and One Way Streets
For best optimization, two-way streets must use a separate path for each side of the street. One-way streets may use a single path for both sides of the street; however, in some cases a single path for both sides may be adequate. With global position satellite information, CodeRealm can provide optimum routing paths, and dynamically allocate locations to particular paths. CodeRealm routing solutions, using real-time sales rate information to select the optimum time for servicing each machine at each location, dynamically generates Service routes.
